Looking to increase customer engagement from its static display enclosures, oOh! turned to Design to Production for unique customisation options for its existing units.
An added challenge was for these added peripherals to be retrofittable to units already deployed in the field.
The first option involved integrating a large illuminated button and thermal printer inside the enclosure. Upon seeing the displayed promotion, the shopper presses the button which then delivers a printed docket. An execution of this involved the printing of recipes with a shopping list for a nearby grocer.
Another variation incorporates the delivery of scents to entice shoppers to purchase the promoted product at a nearby store. This involved the design and production of a custom scent dispensing unit incorporating an illuminated button, Arduino board, a scent canister and fan to deliver the scent.
By incorporating an illuminated button, Arduino board and a motorised card dispenser, the last customisation allows small product information cards to be dispensed to shoppers at the press of a button.
